Let the party begin! Today is the first day of the big SEMA show in Las Vegas. The convention center will be humming with excitement. All the big players in automotive aftermarket products will be there. It will be the debut for the 2010 Yenko Camaro prototype and the 2010 Saleen Mustang S281. The Yenko name is brought back to life with a redesigned retro supercar, the 2010 Yenko Camaro prototype
(pictured left). General Marketing Capital Incorporated (GMCI) will be introducing the first phase of this car at the SEMA trade show now in its 46th year.
Using the 2010 Camaro SS as its base, a 600 horsepower high performance LS-based engine with a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission is included in this throwback car. Yenko trim package is embedded throughout the car in the wheels, including emblems on the seats, sill plates and floor mats to name a few. Hurst short-throw shifter, larger brakes and a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system are also added. GMCI reports phase II and III will have even higher output engines and more suspension and handling upgrades. People attending the SEMA trade show can look for this Phase One prototype at the OER booth (#23795).
Back in the day, Don Yenko Chevrolet in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania designed and built the Yenko Camaros during the 1960’s muscle car era. A Yenko Camaro is one of the most sought after Camaros in the world.
Saleen will feature a S281 version of the 2010 Ford Mustang
(pictured right) at this year's SEMA show. This high performance Ford pony will be a show stopper for those in attendance. Out of the three S281’s offered through Saleen in 2010, we expect that will be the supercharged version that will appear at SEMA. It features a patented twin-screw supercharger design with 465 bhp @ 5800 RPM horsepower and 425 lb-ft @ 4000 RPM torque engine. With Saleen under new management, Mustang enthusiasts will be watching closely to observe that the newest Saleen models will continue to offer to the same level of style and performance.
